Our annual singing festival for KS1 is back with more animal songs!
New for 2025 is the FREE Coventry Schools’ Creature Cantata III with music composed by Kevin Stannard (Coventry Music Engagement Officer) and words written by Rebecca Thompson (St Mary’s the Mount School, Walsall).
For KS1 and Year 3 children – a fun-filled singing project learning songs about a wide variety of animals and their characteristics, mixing rhythmical rhymes, fast moving feet and Makaton signing. Learn the songs at school then come and perform on stage with other schools, with a live band in front of an audience!
The 10-song cantata is a magical, musical exploration through nature and our animal kingdom.
Songs will be a mixture of favourites from the last two years events plus some exciting new songs “Sad Badger”, “Honey Bear” and “Animal Farm”. Some songs include Makaton signing.
The Creature Cantata III Live event gives children the opportunity to sing the songs they have learnt in schools over the last few months, in a professional venue, with other school children, accompanied by a live band – which will include Coventry Music tutors.
