CANCELLED Regional Youth Orchestra next meeting is at Drapers' Hall
The orchestra will be holding a weekend course at Drapers’ Hall, Coventry on the 29th and 30th April 2023 and we hope to attract students from across the region to join this ensemble.

his ensemble following on from the success of the previous courses. Tutors from all three music services will support each orchestral rehearsal and there will be some opportunities for smaller sectional rehearsals throughout the weekend
This course is open to all orchestral instruments including Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass, Flute/Piccolo, Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Tuba and Percussion/Timpani for young people grade 5 standard or above.
There will also be an informal concert towards the end of the weekend to give the orchestra an opportunity to perform the pieces learned over the weekend which you are more than welcome to join us for. Starting and ending times are yet to be confirmed.
The cost of the weekend will be £25 for students currently enrolled in a Coventry Music group and £50 for those who are not, but still wish to join us for the weekend.

We will also be holding a short workshop for junior string players (open string beginners up to grade 2) to experience what it might be like to play in an orchestra. They will get the chance to find out more about the music being played in the concert and play simplified versions of some of the music being performed by the older students. Following the workshop, they will then attend the concert performed by the Regional Youth Orchestra. Find out more and sign up here. The workshop costs £10 and places are limited.
