What a great way to end the year at Coventry Music
We have had some amazing and supportive audiences for our young musicians across the city over the last year.
Recently we have ‘played out in Canley’ with the community Samba Band in partnership with Warwick Arts Centre – talking part in the Carnival Procession, celebrated our groups in the Butterworth Hall at the Summer Showcase and held two Trailblazer Cantata’s.
This year has seen some remarkable performances Including a truly wonderful finale performance with Coventry Music musicians performing alongside the Warwick University Orchestra to the BBC 10 pieces Largo and Firebird at the Summer Showcase, providing a perfect ending to a truly mesmerising night of music making.
The school choirs, with the addition of the Strings players from Barrs Hill, Stoke Park, St Johns and Holbrooks, added a wonderful dimension to the Trailblazer Cantata.
Over the past week 66 students took part in the Coventry Music Summer Showcase, 315 students across the Cantata events and 20 members of the community Samba Band paraded at the Canley Carnival . All performances had musicians ranging from 7 years old upwards and the quality remained extremely high.
Coventry Music are excited for their upcoming events with the NEXT Stage takeover at Godiva Festival on 7th July, Gig Night on 16th July at the HMV Empire and Sir Charles Barratt Memorial Foundation Recital Evening on 17th July. As well as many end of year performances in schools and two tutor bands touring schools fpr the final two weeks of term.
What an exciting year for all involved – a big well done to everyone involved! We can't wait to see what next year will bring
