Don't forget about music on Transition Day

moving from primary to secondary school

It's transition day and the start of something new...

We hope everyone enjoys meeting their new teachers and visiting their new schools, especially those moving from Primary to Secondary school.

If you love music then now is the perfect time to talk to your new teachers about starting music lessons at your new school. Most secondary schools offer music lessons in lots of instruments and will be more than happy to hear from keen young musicians. Your tutor or music teacher is often the best person to talk to.

If they don't do lessons in school then please get in touch with us or register for lessons on our website and we can see what we can arrange for you. We offer some after school lessons, subject to availability at Southfields Adult Education Centre and can also arrange for you to have lessons in your school at a time to suit you.
You can contact us at music@coventry.gov.uk

If you are a current Coventry Music student or group member who is moving to a new school, do tell us your new schools so we can makes sure you still hear about all the exciting things we do.

And if you haven't already joined a music group, your new school may have lots of music groups you can join or you can come along to one our friendly groups, have fun and make some new friends. Maybe ask your new friends to come along too.

We have lots of exciting groups on offer, everything from choirs, to string orchestras, and creative music making groups. Most of the groups will be based at the Albany Theatre, with some at others venues across the city. Have a look at our website for all our exciting groups on offer. All our groups are looking for new member for September so please do come along and give us a try.
