New monthly Podcast coming soon
We are launching a Music Journalism Project this year for several lucky young people in Coventry
This year we will be launching a new music podcast, showcasing music in the city, especially for young people aged approximately 13-15, and we need you to help us. If you - or someone you know - loves social media or is looking to develop their journalistic skills and confidence then please apply to get this exciting new project up-and-running. Watch this space for news of where you can watch and listen to the podcasts.
The project will include two separate projects:
Podcast Pilot Project
A new audio and visual initiative that offers a unique way to showcase the services and opportunities provided by Coventry Music. This podcast project will serve as a platform to highlight the diverse range of workshops, events, and programs we offer, while also engaging students directly in the production process of a podcast. By involving young people in the roles of hosts, interviewers, and content creators, we aim to not only promote Coventry Music but also provide a valuable educational experience that introduces students to the world of broadcasting. The podcast sessions will take place once a month till July 2025.
Writing for a local music magazine
Hot Music Live magazine writes articles for Warwickshire, Solihull and the Coventry areas. This will be a new project giving students the opportunity to write and publish an article in their online magazine. This will help us again highlight events, programs and lessons that we offer. Students will have a mentorship opportunity with one of the writers of the magazine, and will get a chance to write about music, and local music performances, in any genre of their choosing. This can be done alongside any performances/interviews taken place with the Podcast Project.
- There are currently only 4 places available, so apply quickly to be in with a chance of being involved
- The first two podcast pilot dates are scheduled to be Monday 28th Oct 17:00 – 19:00 & Monday 25th Nov 17:00 – 19:00. Location tbc/ Further dates will be announced soon.
- This could be a great half term project and a brilliant way to gain new skills and grow your confidence.
- Writing an article for the magazine isn’t compulsory, we will accept applications from people who only want to take part in the Podcast Pilot Project.
